In Addition

Mom is doing okay. She had a bone marrow test today to see if the cancer has spread to her bones, so she's quite sore. We don't talk about the illness much, but I know she's having a tougher time. She'll be at work tomorrow and Wednesday she has an appointment with her surgeon. So far, it's in her skin in her chest cavity and in her lymph nodes.

I will certainly keep you posted as we find out more information. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts!

Clarification

Okay, just to clarify why Matt and I called it "Revenge of the Suck"... (this one is for you, j.m.!)

Now that Matt's going into film school, we're starting to pick apart movies more and more. I have to say the dialogue was TERRIBLE. Get on with the show, folks! I don't need to hear how much Annikan and Padme love each other...for 2 minutes! Sheesh. The tech aspects of the movie were incredible, and it was fun to see Yoda fight again. I really enjoyed Ian McDarmond (the chancellor) and Christopher Lee (Count Duku). I just wish the script was less painful. Matt said that 30-45 minutes of dialogue could have been cut from the movie. I'll go with him on that one.

Frankly, I was really disappointed with "Revenge of the Sith". Many of my friends said that they loved it (to each his/her own) and so I had high hopes. Perhaps my disappointment is reflected in my review. :)

Dad

He's so good. He has mom double booked for both scans at 2 different hospitals, and I think the appointments are next week. What a guy! :)

It's back.

My mom's cancer is back. It's in her skin. She's due to have a CAT scan and a bone scan June 1 to see if it's spred any further. Right now my dad is on the phone trying to get an earlier appointment. We don't have much more information but I'll post something as soon as I know.

We've made it through this thing once. We'll get through it again.

And she was doing so well...training for a triathlon and everything...

More Comic Relief...

My dear friend S.B. pointed out another great comedian...Eddie Izzard. He is very funny, and I enjoy his stuff tremendously. It's a different type of humor, more intelligent and he's also british so he's got that going for him! :)

I'm sending in my resume/cover letter for the AFI job today...wish me luck!

Girlfriends

They are the best! I just got back from a wine date with L.T-B. and J.M. What a riot. We had such a good time talking about all kinds of girly/wifey things. It was so great to see them. I had such a shitty afternoon and they made it all go away. You gals know who you are, I know you read this thing! :) Thank you for making it such a special evening. You two are wonderful! I love you!

Hello?

Is anyone reading this thing? No one is leaving comments and I am kind of feeling like this is just a waste of time...what do you want to know?

Stalling (again)

I was all ready to work on my cover letter last night, you know, the one for the AFI job? I walk in to find Matt and our friend Rian watching "Babylon 5" on DVD with Sean, a friend from the former "Fairview" house. Well, turns out that Don wants to come over so I go to the store to pick up groceries with Rian and Sean and Rian proceeds to buy us 3 bottles of wine! I made hamburger soup with rustic bread and we had went through 2 lovely bottles of red wine. It was a fun evening and I was just sorry that Rian had to leave this morning. I will see him again soon, I know, but he's just so much fun and is full of cool stories and tons of information about Los Angeles. I'm actually looking forward to the move now! :)

Oh Boy

So I pulled out of the production of Camelot. With rehearsals 3 nights a week plus 8 hours on the weekends and a giant move coming up, I just don't have the time or patience. The director was very kind and completely understood - however, my over-sensitive conscience is racked with guilt at the moment. At least it's early enough in the rehearsal process where they can still get someone else. Oh, and if you are interested in seeing the show but can't afford a $20 ticket, they are having a $5 preview night on June 2. Intrested? Let me know and I can hook you up. :)

Matt left the school of the arts. It wasn't working out to his benefit and he can get more hours at NWAG and get better pay. He slept in this morning after a very long weekend of filming. This weekend he'll be gone quite a bit. Friday night is a night shoot, which means he should be home in the wee hours of the morning. Oh, and I got to be the "busty barmaid" this weekend in the movie - it was so much fun! And I really liked my costume - very flattering.

A congrats to my friend Kevin who got a new job at TLT! Way to go! You deserve it! :)

Goodness!

I found a great job opening at AFI for the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. Right up my alley! I'm going to apply this weekend. Wish me luck! :)

Matt called the school because we haven't gotten the informational packet yet. Turns out they are updating their computer software and we should expect the packet in about 1-2 weeks. Matt is currently too busy with G2E to think about grad school right now. But after this weekend, just 2 more weekends, and filming will be done! Yeah!

Progress?

So our friend Rian is staying with us for a few days and guess where he is from? :) Poor guy, I've been picking his brain non-stop. I bet he's glad to get away from me today (he's gone off to the set of G2 with Matt). He brought us some apartment guides and told us which cities to look at. What a guy! He's actually made me feel a little more at ease.

I found a job at UCLA that I'm attempting to apply for. I say "attempting" because I hate writing cover letters!

Stressed

I'm so stressed out I've made myself sick. I'm home from work today with a chest cold and an upset tummy. Everytime I think about all the work that needs to be done, my stomach starts churning and rumbling. I have no appetite and can only drink fluids. I can only eat soup and some frozen potstickers I got from Trader Joe's. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive, and my mom has just been amazing. We had a nice chat last night and I felt a little better. Of course, as I type this email, my stomach isn't doing so well...I should get off the computer...
