I have a great deal of sympathy for you in your nursing struggles, because the same thing happened to me in a somewhat different context. Breastfeeding is wonderful, I'm sure, and I completely understand why we're meant to do it if possible, but I hereby give you permission not to feel guilty! My kiddo's 6 now and needed to be formula-fed, and despite my similar feelings of guilt and concern over all the scary articles out there, pressures on new moms, etc., she has turned out (IMHO) brilliant... ;-) It sounds to me like you are taking wonderful care of Wesley, and you aren't doing ANYTHING wrong by giving him formula. He'll grow into an intelligent, healthy boy because of the nurturing you and Matt are giving him.Laura Giffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06986572878187796174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12387939.post-10981270784107304502012-04-16T21:20:04.260-07:002012-04-16T21:20:04.260-07:00That's about how much the monkey weighed at bi...That's about how much the monkey weighed at birth (he was 7lbs 12oz) - crazy how fast they grow. You are doing an amazing job - this job is definitely not the easiest - especially because there really is no "break" from it but I think it's one of the most rewarding ESPECIALLY when you can figure out how to calm someone who can't state what is wrong...and the moment when they suddenly look at you and smile - everything before that smile fades away into the background and you suddenly think "this isn't such a bad day after all" :)

Don't freak out with the shots if he suddenly screams like they're tearing off a limb...talk to him and then hold him close after...it's definitely not a fun experience that's for sure but it doesn't last long (which is the good thing).

Keep being the wonderful mommy and person you are! Looking forward to seeing you and meeting WesleyMelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01362347439053269302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12387939.post-55008506280266176272012-04-16T14:39:33.341-07:002012-04-16T14:39:33.341-07:00The one thing that stood out to me - you and Matt ...The one thing that stood out to me - you and Matt managed to go out on a date without child within the first 6 weeks (it was probably 4 weeks) of your child's life.

Seriously!!! It took me close to 8 months to even attempt that with my first born ... and even then, it was difficult to do so.

You are doing great! I got more for you, but I'll save that for an e-mail.
